***FREE Days for your child! We encourage parent involvement with their children and invite volunteers. If a parent would like to volunteer to work at Discovery House, the hours worked will allow your child to participate the same number of hours at no charge. Mentors may have their first child attend at no charge with additional children discounted.

*We welcome low income families on a first come, first served basis as scholarship funds are available.
Our options are designed to fit your educational needs, schedule and budget.
Located in Fort Myers, Florida (Lee County), Discovery House will be open M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Full Time Option
Your child (age 6 to 16) can participate for eight or more hours per day, five days per week, twelve months a year. Designated snack and lunch breaks as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor activities make this ideal for families who want a homeschool environment, but are not able to keep their children at home due to conflicting work schedules. We work with each parent to develop an “unschool” plan that will satisfy the family’s educational needs. We are happy to help parents file their own letter of intent and keep appropriate records for their children. We provide each child with a folder and activity log to record an account of all activities the child participates in. Monthly rate is $725. Families who prepay for the year will receive a 10% discount. For families with more than one child, a 10% discount is applied to each child after the first one.
Part Time Options
Your child (age 6-16) can participate for four hours per day OR five to seven hours per day, five days per week, twelve months a year. Designated snack and lunch breaks as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor activities make either option suitable for families who want a homeschool environment, but are not able to keep their children at home due to conflicting work schedules, or they are desiring an opportunity for learning in addition to whatever they do at home. We work with each parent to develop an “unschool” plan that will satisfy the family’s educational needs. We are happy to help parents file their own letter of intent and keep appropriate records for their children. We provide each child with a folder and activity log to record an account of all activities the child participates in. 3/4 days monthly rate $550; 1/2 day monthly rate $325. Same discounts as above apply.
Drop In
Your child (age 6-16) may “drop in” to Discovery House up to three hours per day any time during hours of operation on a sporadic basis. This option is perfect for families who want an added outside activity to supplement their homeschool environment, or for those who have chosen traditional school for their children and would like an after school option for occasional research or homework projects. We can provide these participants with a folder and activity log to record an account of all activities the child participates in if so needed or desired; however, most school students would not require this since their schools would be monitoring their school activity. Drop In rate is $10 per hour, but parents may purchase a prepaid participant pass punch card in increments of $100 and receive a 10% discount on hourly rates.
“Your love, concern and teaching gift are very evident. The children are truly blessed to have you in their lives.”
